Pixelfont lets you view the whole book—all of it, complete & unabridged—at a glance.

Enjoy your favourite book as an abstract work of art. Or come closer and read each individual character as a printed pixel.

Each type of character is mapped to a pixel of a certain colour or shade; a legend of the character-to-colour mappings is included. Pixelfont also exposes underlying structures. The pixels form abstract patterns that seem random, but if you look closely you can discover structural characteristics of the text.

All works are printed on museum-quality Hahnemühle Hemp paper of 290 g/m². You can choose to frame them yourself, or have us mount them on aluminium or dibond (with a discreet hanging system) at cost price.

Custom Editions

We can also work on a Custom Edition of your favourite text. Several decisions have to be made when a text is converted to Pixelfont. The shape of the work (square, rectangle, circle,...), the colour spectrum, the size of the work, the material it is printed on, the frame, and so on. When these choices match the context, the final work adds an enriching visual dimension to the original text. We will dive in together, decide on the variables, and create a unique work of art. ←
